Passport Renewal

On Thursday I’ve taken the opportunity that I’m day off, to renewal my passport. My file was in West Bank Passports Office as I follow my dad who was born in Nablus, but now it was handed down to the main department in Jabal Amman, as I follow Mhmdy – my better half.

I was surprised how easy and fast that was, I picket a ticket, and then waited my number to be called, employees were friendly, and their screens were LCDs! The whole process didn’t exceed half an hour!

My biggest dazzle was when I’ve got this sms on my mobile:“لقد أصبح جواز سفرك جاهزا للاستلام، يرجى مراجعة شباك الاستلام خلال 15 دقيقة”
Which means that my passport is ready, and I should get it during 15 minutes!!!

I smiled, I liked the idea, I’m feeling the e-Government :)

Would this be done if my passport was still in West Bank Passports Office?

Helpless

The worst feeling on earth is to feel helpless toward someone you care!

When you see your friend who has lost someone and you can't find the words/actions that make your friend feel better!

When you see someone dear in a big trouble, and your words/actions fail to help him!

When you see your valuable thing has been stolen in front t of your eyes, and your words/actions will not get it back!!

When you see Gaza under siege, without electricity, without light, without food, without any important essential that you don't call it luxury, and you can't do anything directly to them!!!!

What will you do?

I was thinking all the night what can I do?Simply one great thing: it is praying to Gaza/Palestine, and to your friend, to your someone dear, pray with your heart!

That's all I've got to them!

Bulldozers Should Wake You Up!

I know its cold, & u r nodded off since ages! But I think its time to wake up! Or at least open your eyes & hear what’s happening around! I'm not asking for move! All I’m asking is to show your objection! At least by your heart; which is the feeblest faith!

Bulldozers started demolishing a bridge, two rooms, and a hill connecting the Buraq (wailing) Wall with Aqsa Mosque! “Aqsa” do you still remember it? The one located in Palestine, if you still remember it too!

Anyway! "ROBA DORATEN NAFEAA" who knows! This might stop bloodshed! & reinforce national unity!
Least thing to do! Let’s pray!

Palestinian Dispersion in Another Way

I just wanted to share the – whole day – family gathering; traveling, eating, walking, shopping, & having fun! But isreal won’t let it go!

When you cross the isreal bridge – as called JESER YAHOOD; the number of your bag is stuck as a label on the back of your passport, I usually take the sticker of, but in my last visit, it was really sticky that it needs so many liquids to remove it, so I postponed it for later on, till I forgot.

ELMOHEM cos of the remaining sticker on my passport I was forbidden to enter Syria! & so I went back to Amman, after I have prepared my mood for the trip. All the family has crossed the boarders, my sis & I went home!

That didn’t spoil my day, I had my plans, and I’ve got new friends :) I’ve won them from the book exhibition – yesterday was its last day. Any way all I wanted was to spend the whole day with my family, as I rarely have the chance of doing that.

Again Palestinian dispersion in another way!

Enjoy Your Staying @ the Barrier!

Believe it or not!You can’t travel/move in your country/home freely, easy, simply!

Imagine everyday you should pass by at least one barrier & stand in a long queue to go to work, or school, or visit!

Btw while waiting for your turn, u can enjoy an ice cream or a drink or a cup of coffee – as they have started selling them early this summer in most of the barriers all over Palestine!

History Repreats Itself

The link below redirects you to a flash movie - a nice one - about Qana Massacre the First. http://www.russoom.com/artists/ihab_salha/animations/qana

I think it needs some updates; to link it with Qana Massacre the Second!

History repreats itself! Qana again has been rained with missiles --> same tragedy is back.
In addition of the routine calamity; Palestinians & Lebanese are living in --> Same silence is still there.

I wonder when will the history repreat our old - unforgettable- victories!

Back from Nablus

I’m back from Nablus –in Palestine. I have enjoyed my time there that I wanted to stay another week, but the duty calls.

I have reached Nablus on Thursday August 18, 2005 @ 2:30 pm, I wasn’t feeling tired but the weather was too hot & muggy.& I have reached Amman on Saturday August 27, 2005 @ 2:30 pm - what an accident :) , I was lucked out in returning home!I woke up @ 5:15 am, dad & my cousin drove me to the bus station in Nablus, the bus moved @ 6:30 to Hhowara (7owara) Barrier*, there was a long line of vehicles infront of us, when it was our turn, israeli soldiers started to search our luggage. For our bad luck when searching the first bag they have found posters for Palestinian martyrs & fedayee, so they have stopped the owner of this bag – who was a young girl - they have mess up all her bag then investigated her. After that they moved to search another bag, they found a book about fedayee’s biography, also the owner of this bag was young girl, they investigated her, too. So it took us long time to pass Hhowara Barrier.

Next, we reached Zaatara Barrier (Zaatraa = thyme) @ 9 am, there was a longer line of vehicles than Hhowara, & the cars weren’t moving! There was a car accident in the front so we have to wait hour and half to cross it, by this time there was a fat chance for us to catch the last bus in Arehha – Jericho - Bus Station. Thanks for the bus driver who has called the crossing point in Hussein Bridge and asked them to delay the last bus until we arrive there, & thanks a lot for his favor with me ;) that I can’t mentioned it now.

Finally, I would like to add that it wasn’t our bad luck, it was the israeli soldiers despotism.

A HUGE thanks for all my relatives in Nablus cos they have done their best to enjoy my stay, special thanks to:-
  • Aya: for accepting, my bag, any my mess in your room
  • Mahmood: for your cool drives
  • Aunt Najwa: for guesting me, and helping me get away of some situations ;)
  • Uncle Omar: for treating me as his daughter
  • Ghadeer the bride: for concerning me
  • All: for everything

I wish to see you all on 10th September this year – to attend my cousin wedding, I’ll try my best to come; a discussion battle with dad will be held this evening :)

*Barrier : it’s a check point done by israelis distributed around the cities and towns; to prevent people from moving freely in their lands
